Ready for Lowell Observatory?
Next Sunday is the EVAC trip to Lowell Observatory. The bus will leave the
Gilbert Library ,at Greenfield and Guadalupe, at 4:30pm - please be on time.
We estimate arrival at Lowell at 7:00 - 7:30pm. A pizza dinner will be
provided in the large meeting room at the observatory. The gift shop will be
open; as well as the exhibit area. Representatives of Lowell will provide
details on the restoration of the Clark telescope. We will also tour the
facility. You may want to bring along a small flashlight if you have any
difficulty walking. We did have a little miscommunication with Lowell about
the evening. It seems they have an extended public program on holiday
weekends. That means the observatory will be open late for public viewing, but
we have arranged a private time after 10pm for our group. We will be staying a
little later, and arriving back home later, but you can sleep on the bus and
dream of your great time visiting this historic landmark.
