Why did I receive a message from the ETNI list today that began like this?

No, this is neither spam nor a virus.
Unfortunately, the members of the ETNI team are also human. If they were
simply virtual creations of someone's mad imagination, life would be so much
simpler.
As such, they are prone to making mistakes. Someone over there at ETNI
headquarters clicked on "x" instead of "y", creating the havoc you
described.I think that the message that followed this one is the untainted
message you should take as the real thing.
