I have some issues with not allowing the weaker kids to use their
dictionary on the test in junior high. Later, when they come to high
school, they also do not bring / use their disctionaries on the test,
which for them is crucial. I totally agree that vocabulary should be taught
and tested, but that does not mean excluding the dictionary use from the
tests in Junior high.

Our Junior High Staff is considering eliminating the use of dictionaries
and electronic dictionaries for tests or parts of them. Our tests include
an unseen, grammar, a vocabulary section and writing.
We would greatly appreciate to hear your opinions, based on experience,
