In answer to Patricia:
I don't know the official answer, but I can tell you that two students of
mine took moed beit last year without taking moed aleph. One had a sister
getting married on the day of moed aleph and the other had a bad case of the
flu. There was no problem in their taking the second exam and we did not
haveto send in any special request.
