[etni] etni mail - regular vs. digest

Hi all,

Here are a few clarifications regarding the differences between receiving Etni mail in a digest, or in regular separate messages.

The advantage of the digest is that you receive all of the Etni messages from the previous day in one message. However, the digest appears in plain text only. This means that if a message was sent to the list in rich text, all of its rich text formatting will be lost in the digest. For example, in the last message to the list from the ministy (anglit.net), the contact information appeared in a clearly formatted table in the separate message to the list, but this information lost its table format and appeared somewhat jumbled in the digest.

Where possible, I convert messages to plain text before forwarding them on to the list, in order to make this easier for digest readers. But this is not always possible.

So, all in all, you will have to decide which option is best for you:

receiving only one Etni mail message per day as a digest and giving up on the original format of some of the messages
- or -
receiving all of the Etni mail for the day in separate email messages, all in their original format.

* Note - if you want to be sure that all Etniers (both digest readers and regular message readers) see your message exactly the way you want them to see it, send it in plain text format.

(This message was sent in plain text format.)

David
