I just came across this post on the British Council site for adults who want to
improve their English:
Weekly conversation class in Second Life

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that we have been holding free weekly
conversation classes on the British Council Isle in Second Life for adult
learners of English.
The classes are every Wednesday at 20:00 UK time and last an hour
They are free and open to any learners of English
To participate, the learners need to create an account at
http://www.secondlife.com and then search for the British Council Isle in
Second Life.
