Pupils and teachers in all schools in Israel are supposed to be conducting
talks on whether to restore uniform
dress codes. In keeping with the International Convention on the Rights of the
Child, which Israel ratified in
1991 - and which was reaffirmed in 1993 by a special state committee formed by
the justice minister - Education
and Culture Minister Limor Livnat and her ministry's director general, Ronit
Tirosh, are allowing each school
to decide on its preference within two months.
