Dear Teacher Friends:
I haven't been around in a couple of years, that is since I finally
graduated from teaching. However, recent happenings have reminded me that I
still think the system is broken and in need of help.
So, I've dusted off my white paper and am looking to push it to the
education committee of the Knesset. It can be viewed/downloaded at
http://education.theherzes.com/. Skip the Vision; go straight to the
Executive Summary.
The problem is it's in English. If there is anyone who is as crazy as I am,
and has better Hebrew, I'd really appreciate some help, getting at least the
Executive Summary translated. I'd also love your input.
I don't need to hear how impossible it is, how no system in the world looks
like this, etc. I'm aware of this. There have been a lot of impossibles
that occurred at the hands of visionaries/crackpots, the modern State of
Israel being one example.
So I just want to know who wants to play along. We could create a movement,
use it as a teachable moment, engage students as they have never been.
Teach them to design and generate their own future.
