Yes, well, those are the key words, aren't they: "running the show." They
tell us what to do and we do it. We agree with them, they listen to us. We
don't, it's "venting" and we're talking to ourselves. We say amen to every
dictate: larger classes, long days in schools where the word "cafeteria" is
not part of the lexicon, a curriculum that apparently only the chosen few
can teach, ten times the amount of work, the sword of Dovrat suspended over
our heads and every "reform" they sling our way. Then we're "good teachers."
We disagree and we are (there is nothing I can say here that I would like to
see in print).

Well, to quote Archie Bunker, whoop-de-do. We can vent. Our "unions" tell us
to make nice. Then they sponsor strikes of the sort guaranteed to make the
rest of the country despise us while making us look like idiots. Do the
words "organized labor" mean absolutely nothing to anyone? If you try Google
you will get 11 *million* hits for the phrase. 280 professional, dedicated,
caring English teachers feel they could do a better job if they didn't have
to teach the NBA and they're "venting?" Gimme a break.
