Hi, everyone! I am completing my first year of teaching in Israel, and coming to the end of my MOE Morim Olim course at Shaanan College. The next hurdle is to take the required classes in subjects such as Israeli Civics, Jewish history, etc., to get my full teaching certification. The problem is, my Hebrew wasn't good enough to pass the entry exam to enter the course. Some of my fellow olim teachers, however, got exemptions for these classes because they had university credits for classes covering the same material. Here's my question: is it possible to place out of all these classes by taking them in English via an accredited university that teaches online, such as Israel's Open University, or another university overseas? I am scared that, despite having completed Ulpan Aleph, I won't improve my Hebrew quickly enough to be able to do the coursework in the two years I have remaining to get my license. Any or all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I truly want to get my full teaching license here. Best wishes and Shabbat shalom, Selah Gitlin selahgitlin@xxxxxxx ************************************** ** Join ETNI on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/31737970668/ ** ETNI Blog and Poll http://ask-etni.blogspot.co.il/ ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to ETNI List - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ***************************************
