Dear List,

A little while ago I wrote to the list with a suggestion.  Perhaps you 
thought I was joking.

I suggest that teachers get together with the Irgun and arrange to resign en 
masse.  I believe that English teachers, in particular, facing, as they do, 
the same problems as other teachers, multiplied by three, deserve to be 
heard.  Since the supply of English teachers is far below the demand, they 
will be heard, and I doubt very much if the will be risking their jobs if 
they take this drastic measure.
