Subject: HELP my class is native speakers
HELP, I have a ninth grade class of high level English speakers in a
religious boys school. Many are native speakers who came on aliyah on
Nefesh B Nefesh. They are extremely bright and well read. Last year they
read Lord of the Flies, Fahrenheit 451, To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984,
Huckleberry Finn, and several dozen short stories. I need some really
motivating suggestions and modern but acceptable novels for a group of open
minded religious boys in a yeshiva with strict standards.
Any suggestions for novels, short stories, poems welcome. It does not have
to be American literature and in fact all welcome. I am considering some
Dickens and Margaret Lawrence.
