Subject: Ethiopian students' extra 10 points on their Bagrut
 From: "Eva Weiss" <red-head@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

 1. I seem to remember that the extra 10 points which the
Ethiopian immigrants used to be entitled to on their Bagrut had
been cancelled a while ago. Right?

 2. A pupil entitled to use a 'milonit' on his bagrut exam can use
it in his composition to go from Hebrew to English. There's
nothing to stop him, right? Fair?

 3. A question that has bothered me over the years-
When is it better to do a 4 point Bagrut instead of a
5 point one? Is an 85 on a 4 pt test better than a 63 on
a 5 pt test? Sometimes students insist on doing a 5 pt
exam when they are really too weak. Is it worth their effort?

Thank you for an offical answer to questions #1 and 2 and
your input about #3.
 Eva
