Birding Friends,
I know you love birds. Do you want to help children share your love of
birds?
I am looking for 1, maybe 2 more volunteers to help out with a Great
Backyard Bird Count at Evergreen School on Monday Feb 20. It is an easy,
fun day. Volunteers will lead small classes of 4th and 5th graders around
the grounds of the school. The place is quite small so no long walks. The
birds will generally be our common winter birds.
We'll meet at 8:15 at the school - the Oakley neighborhood in east
Asheville. We wrap up by 12:00 but you would not have to stay the entire
morning.
The children at this age are enthusiastic and fun to be with. I would say
better than 7th / 8th graders.
