Birding along Max Patch Rd in northern Haywood County continues to be strong
with 37 species recorded on Saturday.  Three Golden-winged Warblers were
observed above the Palmer Pond that stole the show.   The Yellow Warbler and
numerous Chestnut-sided Warblers were also seen at this location. At least 3
Scarlet Tanagers were seen  and this makes me think it is a good year for them.
On Sunday morning at the Max Patch Bald parking area in a drizzling rain
Chestnuts-sided Warblers were seen with  Pine Siskins that have  apparently
moved  to higher elevations.  Rain prevented more birding there.  Some photos
are attached.
