Folks
I led a private tour today in Jackson Park, Hendersonville,NC - we were
looking for Connecticut Warbler, but alas, one did not appear. Despite this
fact we had a great morning with over 60 species seen during our morning
excursion.
Highlights included the following:
Philadelphia, Yellow-throated, Red-eyed and White-eyed Vireos
Green Heron, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and good numbers of Gray-cheeked,
Swainson's and Wood Thrushes
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - handful still coming through
Warblers (16) including a splendid Lawrence's that we managed to
photograph, Ovenbird, BT Blue etc
Winter arrivals included: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Ruby-crowned Kinglet,
Swamp Sparrow and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
The e-bird list is at: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S31919841
Photos of the Lawrence's Warbler are already posted on the Carolinabirds
website - http://www.carolinabirdclub.org/gallery/Thompson/lawa.html
There is a Jackson Park bird walk scheduled for this coming Saturday at 9
AM- meet at the Admin Building in the park.
We still have a few spaces open on our "Birds and Brews" day trip scheduled
