My thanks to Jame Poling who let us know a couple days ago of the ducks at Lake Tomahawk, including the Wood Ducks. I went there this morning and the variety of ducks and birds was pretty good, but certainly the highlight was the pair of Wood Ducks swimming around near the dam end of the lake. Also present were Green-winged Teal, Great/Lesser Scaup, Mallards, and some barnyard ducks of some kind. Along the periphery of the lake were a couple Great Blue Herons, several Eastern Phoebes skimming the water for insects, and a female Belt Kingfisher above the creek feeding the lake. It was a nice morning but nippy. Alan Lenk
