After seeing ducks at Lake Junaluska and Hooper Lane over the last few days, I
decided to check out the eastern Buncombe Co lakes. I visited the KOA
Campground, Lake Eden at Camp Rockmont, Owen Lake, and Ward’s fishing Lakes.
The only signs of migrating ducks were Buffleheads at the KOA Campground and
Hooded Mergansers at Lake Eden. I did see Yellow-rumped Warblers at the KOA
Campground. Hopefully the weather will encourage more variety in the coming
weeks.
