Interesting report, Gwenda. If you retraced your route at the same time of
year, I wonder if you'd see these birds again?

Once, My husband John and I went out in a shallow bottomed boat in the

the water. I felt we were in the middle of a Japanese painting.
Alan, your pictures take me tothat thrill of being with the birds.

Here is a final look at some of the more interesting Florida birds (and
their locations) seen and photographed in the Key Largo area. We saw 58
species in total and 6 were lifers. I would have thought we would have
seen more in the 5 days but I have to remind myself we are amateurs.
• White-crowned Pigeons, Everglades NP
• Magnificent Frigatebird, Long Key State Park
• Black-hooded Parakeet, Founders Park, Islamorada Key
• Black Skimmer, Everglades NP
• Royal Tern, Everglades NP
