Very strange, but a Northern Bobwhite was calling around the Mt Mitchell SP
campground this morning. Otherwise the usual birds there. Least and Alder
Flycatchers were still where they were last time, PIne Siskins and a few
flyover Crossbills were present. Three grouse chicks popped out onto the
grass for a couple of seconds across from the ranger station. Didn't see
the hen. She must have called them back very quickly.
