A visit to the Biltmore estate that was not billed as a birdy one, did turn up some interesting birds. (Who can resist?). A Red headed woodpecker on the back side of the Bass pond was a surprise, despite recent reports of a group on a trail nearby. The only warbler flock seen was mostly composed of Yellow rumps, but did have a Nashville embedded along with a Blue headed vireo. Also unexpected, was a small flock of Tree swallows on the flat below Antler village.
