12 guests made their way around the sanctuary this morning in a valiant
search for birds. This include a few that had never been to the location
before. We struggled to pull out just about anything as it seemed the cool
and overcast weather was limiting the action.
After initially not seeing much, a few spots of activity showed up
in the last hour - with Golden-crowned Kinglet and Winter Wren near
the filter pond, and a couple extra species added after heading around
the lake (Eastern Bluebird, Eastern Phoebe, Turkey Vultures).
The only action on the water were two Pied-billed Grebes and Mallards.
After only audible reports, this plump Red-shouldered Hawk made a nice
long appearance next to the meadow as the last participants were leaving.

(I note that "Fish Crow" is now considered 'rare' for eBird reporting at
this location.)
