We had a nice turn out of about 20 people this morning at Beaver Lake Bird
Sanctuary.  The day began cool and overcast but it quickly changed to
partly cloudy  and got warmer by the minute.  I led the group with the help
of Tom Bush and a few other Beaver Lake regulars on a quite eventful
morning.  We began at the retention pond where a warbler flock was moving
back and forth from the island to mainland.  The bird activity did not let
up after that.  Some highlights included Magnolia, Blackpoll, and Palm
Warblers.  We also had a Solitary Sandpiper, Green Heron, Eastern Kingbird,
Yellow-throated Vireo, Orchard Oriole, and many more.

As we walked around the board walk I noticed that a few small areas had
been cleared of invasive species.  I plan to adopt a plot at Beaver Lake to
get rid of invasive/exotic plants and encourage everyone else that has some
free time to do the same.

Thanks again to Tom and everyone else that helped point out birds this
morning.
