Highlights yesterday were the screech owl, this time in the old beater box
above
the newly cleared area; and the two most colorful swamp sparrows I have
ever seen.

This afternoon the teals kept coming out of "nowhere" as I walked around
the perimeter. There were 12 on the lake and 9 more resting on the shore of
the golf pond (total of 21 earned a flag from eBird). There was one
N.shoveler with a group of 4 ringnecks, all females. I continue to see only
the one N. Rough-winged swallow among the tree swallows; today they were at
the sanctuary end of the lake.
