Hello Birding Friends,
Liv Hardin-nieri, a 12-year old student at Rainbow Community School, is
hosting an event to raise funds for a project by the Cloud Forest School in
Costa Rica to preserve habitat for the Wood Thrush. A portion of the funds
will support the EMAS Birdathon to increase habitat connectivity in
Nicaragua for the Wood Thrush and other migrants.
Attached is a flyer for the event.
A highlight will be a video on the Wood Thrush, produced by the Climate
Listening Project, documenting the remarkable migration of one Wood Thrush
from Forsyth County to Belize. I had a chance to see the premier viewing
of the video at the Audubon NC Annual Meeting in Winston-Salem on
Saturday. It is an inspiring film.
Join the party on Sunday May 22, 4:00-6:30 at the Green Sage Cafe in
Westgate Shopping Center for food, music and a silent auction.
Thanks, Tom
