http://www.chevyasylum.com/lsr/bsf2011/sw/pix/Welcome.html There are almost 180 photos in that section. Many of 'em were posted on landracing.com, but there are "never seen before" shots there, too...quite a few of 'em: This is the "Electric Blue" streamliner which is a BYU engineering school project. As I understand it, they've got a "hired shoe" to driver it (Jim Burkdoll, president of USFRA) and he hates the car. Might have something to do with it handling like a herd of sheep and having gone over on its side without any warning last year. But I didn't hear it from him, so it's just unsubstantiated rumor at this time. It only made 2 runs...the first one was a "turn out" or aborted run and it got almost to 140 on the 2nd. I've got a week to get some repairs done on the Burb and a buncha other stuff done. The Burb's in the garage and the race car is parked in the driveway. I hope the local constabulary doesn't look too closely at the plates on it and the Camaro. They can be a pita for sure. I'm off to work on the Burb, I wish everyone a great weekend. r |
