Interesting story about batteries: my stepfather's father bought a
lifetime warranty battery from J. C. Penny. Eventually Sears took
over the auto business from J. C.... he always got the top of the line
battery as a replacement since they knew it had to last... sad ending
though, my stepfather's son sold the '68 Chevy truck the battery was
in for pennies... if he had any sense he would have at least kept the
battery & the paperwork.

...another one on batteries... while we were at SEMA the mother-in-law
had a dead battery in our Infiniti (she was at our house watching the
boys). Her comment about it: "Cars seem to have dead batteries around
me". Translation: she leaves doors open, ignitions not all the way
off, etc. At least she's learned to jump a car off...

...and you all know my story on batteries... battery acid sucks, gel
cell is the only way... and as for longevity ask me again in 5 years
or so, I've yet to have an Optima die and mine are 5 years old, 3
years old and the one in the Volvo is at least 3 years old.
