The School of Information Technologies (SIT) invites applications from
outstanding candidates for a continuing Scholarly Teaching Fellow position
(Level A or B) in Computer Programming and related fields, starting 2017.
This is an attractive opportunity for candidates with an interest and
passion for high quality teaching in the following subject areas: computer
programming and foundational computer science topics (such as Data
Structure and Algorithms), broadly defined. The level of appointment will
be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is a career opportunity in Education in Computer Programming
and Foundational Computer Science. You must have a PhD in Computer Science
or IT and a demonstrable track record in the relevant field of Computer
Programming and Computer Science. Previous experiences in coordinating a
team of Teaching Assistants and tutors will be highly regarded.  You will
be expected to make significant contribution in developing and coordinating
the core teaching of units at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
You will also engage with and contribute to school and faculty
teaching/learning activities and processes including the development of
online based courses.  While the primary role is in teaching, the
Fellowships allow some opportunity to carry out your own scholarly
activities.

*Under the Fellowship rules, you must be able to provide verification that
you satisfy the following criteria:*

   - Have fixed term and/or casual employment experience totalling at least
   12 months in one or more Australian universities over the preceding five
   years,
   - Have been awarded or have submitted a PhD qualification in Computer
   Science and/or IT,
   - Do not hold, or have previously held, any continuing academic
   appointment in a university.

*Other essential criteria include:*

   - A demonstrated capacity to teach in core introductory Computer Science
   and IT subjects.Candidates who can teach across all areas in Computer
   Programming and foundational Computer Science topics will be preferred.
   - A demonstrated capacity to contribute to the core teaching of units in
   Computer Programming and foundational Computer Science at both
   undergraduate and postgraduate level.
   - Previous teaching experience and demonstrated potential to take
   responsibility for curriculum development and design, course coordinatio
n,
   and assessment.
