[edi581] Seeking "News" sites for grades K-2

A colleague of mine sent me this e-mail:

A teacher asked me for a recommendation for a
website with news appropriate for K-2 children,
just to visit as a short segment of their morning
routine. After poking around, I'm surprised to find
so little of substance. The best I could come up
with was:
http://www.yahooligans.com/content/news/
which isn't great.

I told her I would ask "the experts." (That's YOU!) Any suggestions?
