Subject: MSE 101 online WebCT message to students

Dear colleagues,

I have sent the email below to all students enrolled in the MSE 101
online class. Please ask students to make sure that they read their CSUN
email. They can do this by logging onto:

www.csun.edu/webmail

I am given email lists populated by registered students which are
initially set up by the university using the default (csun) student
email addresses. Students are able to change their email address of
record if they follow the instructions that were sent to them.

Please note that I have set up a separate email address for the MSE 101
classes that I teach. Please direct all MSE 101 related email to:

mse101online@xxxxxxxxx

Regards,

Tarek Shraibati

    Hi all,*

*It is a pleasure to have you in class. Just a few items of business.

*IMPORTANT, When emailing me, ALWAYS USE:* mse101online@xxxxxxxxx
    <mse101online@xxxxxxxxx>
Always be sure to sign your email with your name and always include
a subject. I do not read email without a subject.

I order to listen to the lectures you will have to download them as
PowerPoint files and run them as a slide show. The process for
    downloading MSE 101 lectures follows.

       Go to:

       http://webct.csun.edu

log in using your CSUN user ID and password, then click on the
course (Fall 2007 MSE 101). I recommend downloading the lecture for
       use at your leisure.

You must be a registered student to log into the site.

I will send out email to students based on their CSUN email. The
email list I use is prepared by the university. I have included some
details on the CSUN email class list serve for your information
below. If you want to have your email go elsewhere please follow the
    instructions below.

For your lists to be effective, your students must activate their
CSUN email account and monitor their CSUN mailbox regularly.
Students may send and receive CSUN email by logging into Webmail at
    https://www.csun.edu/webmail.

Alternatively, if they would prefer to receive CSUN email at a
non-CSUN email account such as Yahoo or Hotmail, students may
configure email-forwarding to their preferred email account by
logging in to the Campus Account Utility at
    https://www.csun.edu/account.
To minimize the potential of your lists receiving spam, we
have configured them as "closed" lists. As closed lists, only
members of these lists can post messages to them. Consequently, your
students may send email to your lists only from their @csun.edu
    email address.

For Frequently Asked Questions regarding class lists, please
    visit www.csun.edu/it/helpdesk/hdfaqsfacu.html#classlist

I look forward to hearing from you as you complete your first
    assignment.

    Regards
    Tarek Shraibati
