After I import a file what is the best way to edit it and what are some of the things I need to be looking for in order to produce a good Braille document? -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Durber Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 5:44 AM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] How to import Word documents into DBT! First of all, selecting text while you are in a Word document and then copying the text to the clipboard, then pasting that text straight into a document in DBT, is not a very good idea. The reason for this, is that programs such as Microsoft Word, use many internal codes that are only known to the program and not to other programs. You are more than likely to end up with a bunch of codes that have no meaning to DBT whatsoever, which you will then have to remove from the DBT file. Oh! I forgot, if you left those codes in the file, they may produce unwanted and undesirable results in the braille file or when you came to emboss the file. To import your Word documents into DBT, Follow the procedure as described by George Bell in an earlier email response.
