Hi JOhn.

I have two suggestions.

First, go to the JAWS Settings center and change the setting for Pixels per tab
to 16 or larger. That will keep JAWS from thinking that spaces are tabs.

Also, it sounds as if the JAWS setting for braille translation might be input
and output. Change that to none. Since the PerkyDuck user is entering and
reading material that is already in braille, you don't want JAWS doing any
translation.

I hope that helps.

Sincerely,
Caryn

Subject: [duxuser] using a Braille display with Perky Duck

Hi folks,

I am trying to configure a friend and I to both use our Braille displays to
enter and read text using Perky Duck. Both displays are focus models, mine is
the smaller one if that makes any difference. Here is the issue we experience:

When entering information using either 6 key entry on the standard keyboard or
the Braille display keyboard, the text shows up with letter signs and large
spaces between letters. I am using the current version of JAWS and my friend is
using jaws 15.
I have been in touch with Freedom Scientific and verified that as far as they
can see the settings for Braille translation and input/output are set the way
they should be. Any thoughts?
