I have this same issue; had it with JAWS 5 and now with JAWS 6. Very
annoying indeed.

Hello all
I'm having trouble selecting text in DBT 10.5. I'm not sure if it is a
Jaws
issue (I'm using Jaws 5). What happens is that in coded view, nothing is
selected and Jaws starts randomly speaking characters continuously and I
can't shut it up. In formatted view text is selected but nothing is
spoken,
not even the selected text. This used to work fine in 10.4 but I was
also
using Jaws 4.5 which may be where the problem is.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
