Bob,
You can get the guide dots you want by pressing Alt+F7. I'm not sure what
you mean by "menu text", but if you describe what you want to do, I can
probably tell you the codes for doing it.

also- Megadots had a "MENU ITEM" and "MENU TEXT" as a format style. None
exists in Dux. Any suggestions?
