Have you ensured that the codes are revealed before you try the search and
replace.

F3 toggles between reveal codes and not.

Remember that both styles have a period or full stop at the end.



That is para. and poem.



To explain further, a DBT Style with such a period at the end is usually
referred to as a "Paragraph Style", meaning it applies to a complete, whole
paragraph.



DBT Styles without such a period are often referred to as an "In-line Style" or
"Character Style"

I put "para" in the "Find what?" field, and "poem" in the "Replace with"
field, and checked the box "replace stylenames" and the search facility claimed
it could not find any such stylename.



I am using Jaws 17 Professional when I am using D.B.T., and sometimes Baum
Cobra when working with Microsoft Word, but not with D.B.T. I like the ability
to move word by word that Cobra has without pressing the control key. It also
has some other useful features for word processing that I wont go into here.

Look very carefully at the Replace dialog. Below the two text entry lines are
four check boxes.



Are these not being read out to you? What screen reader are you using?
