Do you need Nemeth for a cookbook? Most of the ones I've seen and done use
the number sign and are in literary braille.

Subject: [duxuser] embossing a Braille cookbook

Hi Duxbury listers,

I have questions because a blind friend of mine is trying to prepare a
Braille cookbook. He will be embossing with Duxbury on a Juliet embosser
and wants to know how to handle fractions (1/3TBS) and how is Nemeth code
handled and will he need to use any special codes or styles when
embossing. Since we were classmates at the Ohio State School for the Blind
from 1958 until I left at the end of my freshman year in 1968, we grew
through several math notation changes. If, for example, we had 1 and 1/3,
we would write 1_?1/3 or, if using improper fractions was okay, we'd write
4/3. For that reason, my friend needs some guidance with symbols and how
the cookbook transcribing might need to be handled within Duxbury.

I apologize for running on, but this wasn't a simple request and thanks in
advance for any and all help.
