This is already taken care of in DBT. Simply select the "English (Unified) - Basic" Template when you start a new document. For existing documents, simply open the pre-translated *.dxp file, go to DBT's Document Menu and select "Translation Tables". From the list select, "English (Unified) - Basic" and re-translate. Several important codes are being eliminated. how are the Braille programs supposed to adjust in order to accept the changes? The symbols or characters/contractions include: ally, ble, ation, by, dd, into, com, o'clock, and the joining of "of, with, and the". I think it is unnecessary since I am a transcriber as well as a Braille reader.
