I have a similar problem, but have been unable to come up with a working solution whereby DBT will always open .brf files in the file assoiations dialogue. (It once worked, or seemed to work, perhaps on a former computer, in a former life perhaps...) . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean Menzies" <jemenzies@xxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, August 30, 2008 11:26 PM Subject: [duxuser] brf file association I'm having trouble changing the file association on my PC for .brf files. If I right click on a .brf file, choose Open With, navigate to the Duxbury folder and choose dbtw.exe, it still defaults back to try and open the file with an older version of DBT that I no longer have. I've tried unchecking the "always use this program when opening this type of file", but no matter what I do, I can't get the file association to change. I've tried this through Control Panel, Folders, File Associations as well, and I can't get it to work. At work my computer is defaulted to open braille files with Braille 2000 and I also want to change that to DBT. I'm having the same problem there in that I can't seem to change the file association. Of course, if I open DBT and use the Open File command, I can open the files. But if I want to open from a folder, I can't. Does anyone have any suggestions?
