Hi,
I understand how frustrating PDF files are and the suggestion about
printing them and scanning them back in is a good one, especially if you
have high end OCR software. Remember that PDF is an output format that
is generated automatically from some other source file such as a
publisher's file. This means that the ultimate solution to dealing with
PDF files is the same as for textbooks: getting hold of the original
electronic file.
