Hi Saaqib,
Are you a braillist yourself?
To begin with in text documents, braille programs generally remove additional
spaces. One common rule in most countries for example is that braille should
only have one space between sentences, and yet many people using word
processors and text editors do use two spaces. Many people will also, albeit
often by accident, put two or more spaces between words. The vast majority of
good braille programs will strip these out and reduce to one space.
As regards tabs, try figuring out how many spaces you might need where you wish
to align a table’s columns. Don’t forget that tables can have mixtures of
numbers and text and single letters. With a number, and many single letters,
you need to remember to allow for an addition sign in braille. Plus you ned to
know which sign to add – number or letter sign.
And of course with varying lengths of text in a table, you would have to count
the characters to determine how many spaces to pad things out with.
And of course if you wish to control alignment of a column, be it left, center
or right, it’s far easier to set the appropriate tab up for that column
Bottom lines is that it is much more efficient in most cases to set tabs up
properly.

Subject: [duxuser] Why Do We Need DBT Codes? Can We Do Without Them?
I have a query.
What is the need for so many codes for setting tabs, for example, when one can
use multiple spaces to set the alignmen and positioning of text? Similarly,
what is the need for these codes for skipping lines when one can do the same
thing with the help of the ENTER key? Why use translation codes if one is able
to type in the braille manually (using something called "chording")?
Are there any situations where using the DBT codes is entirely indispensable?
If so, then please give as many examples as you can of those situations.
Hope you understand what I'm trying to ask.
Regards.
