In at least some of the versions of DBT, there is a file
type called .prf. 
If you open a Word document in DBT and save it as a .prf
file, it's like 
having plain text which you can open in WordPerfect or any
other word 
processor you like. I don't know if this option is still
available in 
DBT's latest versions but I hope so. It is a convenient way
to open a Word 
document and strip away attributes useful for print but not
at all helpful 
to the braille document. I hope some of you find this
information useful. 
I think it also works in Megadots.
