If you are getting spurious dots as you describe, it suggest the embosser is 
not correctly set up.

Suggest you contact the embosser manufacturer or supplier, or Duxbury support.

I just think my embosser is very old and it does strange things. It also will 
put a bunch of Braille dots that don't even make a word, at the beginning of 
the first line, only on page 1?

It could be, but seems unusual.  Page numbers are usually right justified to 
the line length.

It is set to 1.  I did notice only on page 1 of the Braille document the 
braille margin goes over further than on page 2, 3, etc.  Could this be why 
page number 1 is not showing up?

Have you looked at the Document Menu: Page Numbering?

"First Page Number to display" may well be set to 2.  If so, set it to 1.

  When I Braille something on my Paragon, Page #1 does not show up in the right 
hand corner.  I get a page number on all of the other pages?
