Hello Frank. Here is one more suggestion, in case you are working directly in
DBT.
Working in a print document in DBT, you could do the following.
First enter the DBT ccode that tells the translator not to translate the text
that follows. That code is [cz]. To enter that code, press
Control+RightBracket. Then type the letters c and z and press Enter.
Then type the underscore character followed by the digit 4.
Finally, insert the code that turns translation back on again. That is the [tx]
code. As with the other code, press Control+RightBracket. Then type the letters
t and x and press Enter.
Between the [cz] and [tx] codes, the characters are "treated as grade 0
braille," or left as their computer braille equivalents. The underscore becomes
dots 456 and the digit 4 becomes dots 256.
By the way, DBT does translate the bullet character correctly in the English
UEB translator. But I will recommend that we fix the problem with translating
the bullet character in the pre-UEB American English translators.

The Word bullets do not import at this time. You have to insert simbraille
bullets, instead of Word bullets, in your Word file.

This incorrect rendering of bullets occurs whether we are using the Bana
literary template or the BANA textbook template. We are using the latest
version of Duxbury, 11.3.

Frank, disregard my message if you are using the Literary template. That does
not have the numbered styles I was referring to. In that case you'll need to
modify the list style, create your own style, or code your lists manually.

I am not using the Word template. I'm using the BANA Literary template in DBT
11.3 when I Import Word files into Duxbury.
I prefer to do my Braille formatting directly in Duxbury because I find it's
interface to be easier for me to use than the Word interface.

Frank,
You didn't say which version of DBT and the template you are using. If you are
using the 2014 Word template, you'll find two bullet buttons on the toolbar (to
the right of the Reset button). The solid bullet is the primary bullet, and the
open bullet is the secondary bullet.
When you use these bullets, the simulated braille for the bullet will be
inserted into your file.
