Hi John,

Are you using the Spanish "Style" in DBT, or starting with the Spanish Template?

And can you please give one or two example where you believe DBT is incorrect?

George.

As one who lives in a Spanish speaking country, and not totally plugged into
the conversation, I just wanted to mention that Duxbury's grade 1 Spanish
Braille is good. But the contracted Braille is flawed. What is more, it would
not serve for English speakers as Spanish abbreviations are almost totally
different from English Braille contractions. While it may be a tangent, it is
important if you have to emboss Spanish.

We have Brailled books from Bookshare. We use Daisy text. When we downloaded
the Braille format, much of it was in Spanish and we needed the entire book in
English. Yes, it does take a lot of paper, but if the student needs a book and
it's not available elsewhere, that's what we have to do. If the rest of the
class is using a book, the General Ed teacher would like the visually impaired
student to have a book also.
Has anyone downloaded the book in Braille format and had success embossing it?

You can. It explicitly says in the notice that the only consession made is to
make copies of the book for use by other blind people.

I've never tried it myself, so I don't know how it would work.

Hello,

Please forgive me, but wouldn't that use a tremendous amount of paper to emboss
a Bookshare book? I was wondering if you have another method to download a
Bookshare book in braille such as an iDevice or braille note taker. I didn't
know that you could download a book from Bookshare and dump it into Duxbury to
braille it out. I am just curious.

Hi- I have a question about downloading a book from Book Share. In Duxbury, it
appears to leave off part of words on the right. I have checked "read
formatted Braille without interpretation" under "Global/Formatted Braille
Importer." Should I do something else?

Thank you,
