G'day all,

I am trying to create styles for bold, italics and underline in UEB in
the print file.

UEB provides separate typeface signs for character, word and passage
i.e. 1 & 2 words are treated as separate words with the word typeface
sign before each, and 3 or more is a passage with the passage typeface
start sign before the first and the termination sign after the last.

All works flawlessly when the bold (/italic) passage style? is selected
from Layout > math codes > bold (or italic) passage, i.e. the 1; 2; over
3 rule is observed by DBT.

The codes this style? inserts in the doc. are [fts~b],[fte~b] for bold
and ...i for italics and ...u for underline, (as expected.)

However, when the same ft codes are used to create a style the 3 or over
rule is ignored, i.e. 1 and 2 separate words are given the passage start
and terminate signs.

I looked through the DBT codes quick reference list but couldn't see any
other typeface codes. No separate ft codes for word or passage. [fts~ ],
[fte~ ] are the only ones I can find.

What am I missing? ( ... and please don't say a brain <smile>)

TIA

Alan
