You can also use the [i] code, which is what the Acronym style does anyway.

Duxbury is acting correctly according to North American rules (BANA). "En" is a special case, but the contractions are allowed for "Ow" and "Er". I don't know about British rules. If these need to be spelled out according to the rules you are following, you can of course do as Francis Khan suggests or use the acronym style, which is meant for making single words uncontracted and uses less keystrokes.

Hi,
Wonder anybody has mistakenly typed "Ou" instead of "Out" and still get the contraction "dots 1-2-5-6" symbol? Theoretically, this should not be so as "En" is not contracted.
For that matter, for special words such as "Ow" and "Er" (Chinese family names), DBT allows the respective symbols to be used. Any comments, please!
Cheers,
