Top of the evening, folks: An assignment done with Perky duck was embossed for me to evaluate (my preferred process). The student is contesting two of the obvious errors I flagged as inaccurate. According to the student, and from her own end, the saved assignment in her PC is indicating what I flagged as errors as accurate braille signs. I then asked the student to share the saved assignment with a TVI who is knowledgeable in the braille code. The TVI also did not see the two specific errors I detected in the embossed copy of the assignment. Then, it occurred to me that perhaps, with even the latest DBT, technology may not be after all 100% "perfect". My question: Is it possible for a technical glitch to occur when DBT is embossing an assignment that has been Perky ducked? My plan (after getting feedback from listers and the manufacturer) would be to mail to the student the graded hard copy of the assignment, showing all the specific errors I highlighted. Thanks.
