Thank you, Rod, that is very helpful.
Do you know anything else about the Ellis family?
I know Charles was married previously to Greeta Nourse (Ross).
Charles and Jessie had two daughters, Joan and Dorothy. Do you know anything of
them?
Regards
Barbara

[dps-chat] Ellis family
I am very keen to find out more about my great great grandmother and her
family.
Her name was Elizabeth Ellis and she came to WA from NSW in c1893 with the 4
youngest of her 10 children. In NSW she and her husband Charles owned the
Belgravia Hotel in the Blue Mountains. The hotel was sold to Mark Foy who
then built the magnificent Hydro-Majestic Hotel on the site.
Following a rather messy divorce Elizabeth came to WA living in Albany and
then Perth. She married George Robinson in Albany in 1907 before dying in
1920 in Perth.
Elizabeth owned Coffee Palaces and hotels in Perth and Albany including the
Grand Central Hotel in Wellington Street currently owned by our Lord Mayor.
Family in WA include:
Arthur John Ellis 1877-1939 married Frances Downing
Jessie Emily Ellis 1879-1933 married Oswald Hunter Bennett
Frederick George Ellis 1881-1964 married Maud Mary Davis
Florence Mabel Ellis 1883-1954 married John Robinson
Another son Edwin Thomas Ellis also came and settled in WA in the early 1900s
and had 2 children.
Other names connected to the family are
Doreen Koch 1906-1990
Greeta Lily May Nourse 1909-
Jessie Terrell 1913-1985
John William James Craig 1895-1960
Robert Morley Knight 1886-1952
It would be wonderful if someone out there could help me with my family.
