This is a replacement for #2054 by @yurii-github
I added on Yuri's changed by refactoring the ajax functions into a proper
class. Future refactorings should move the actual code done in those functions
into other, more topic specific classes. But for now I think this is an
improvement over the original lib/exe/ajax.php

a timely manner.
