[dokuwiki] Looking for good documentation of template.php (template-interface)

Hi again,
i belive template.php should be the interface between templates and
dokuwiki-core.
Unfortunately i can't find any documentation about it. The
codebrowser only shows up it's functions and on the wiki-site it
can't find anything either.
I started one myself but it could be waste of time to "develop the
wheel twice", so do anybody have such docs and would like to share
with me/us. If there is really none i would like to start it on
dokuwiki-wiki :-)
